What are some symptoms of allergies to insect bites for puppies? |
Hi told you guys about my 3 month old boxer that we thought got stung by a wasp. She's been to the vet already however I am becoming concerned that she is getting worst. She seems to have the chills shes trembling and looks uncomfortable. I will be taking her first thing in the morning but she is really acting strange tonight. I have been feeding her through a medicine needle "Glucerna" something like Ensure and the amoxy that was prescribed but her eyes are really red and puffy, she looks pitiful and I feel helpless. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!! I'd personaly take her back to a vet immediately. While it may be that she just needs some antihystamines or benedryl, I wouldn't risk it if it was my dog. My cat is allergic to wasps/bees as well - the last time he was bitten he went into shock and almost died - the vet told me if I'd been 20 minutes longer in getting him there, he'd have been dead. Quite a different reaction, I'm sure, and one that's not common in animals, but now I tend to err on the side of caution. Some allergies result in a painful swelling, others result in worse. Just because it seems like a trivial thing (an insect bite) it's better to be safe than sorry in my opinion. If there's an emergency animal hospital nearby, I say go there. The worst that will happen is you'll look like an over-worrying owner, and have a small bill to pay. I feel bad for you dog! Anyway, it's probabley not allergies. When my dog got stung by a bee, we found out she was allergic to bees and she swelled up in the place she got stung. I f your dog was allergic to something or was stung by a wasp, then they probabley would be swelling. dogs usually break out if the have allergies |
