MY 5 yr old has allergies to cats , her friend who has a cat is coming over..? |
hi.thnx for looking. MY daughter had the testing done last month.and offically 100% cats & dust/mites allergy-.. her friend is coming over who hasnt been here in months ?, idk.. but she does have a cat . My daughter is very allergic to cats and plays all the time with a friend who has a cat, both at our house and hers. She takes allergy medication and uses her asthma inhaler before she goes to her friend's house, and that's always made her fine; she even managed a sleepover over there. We tell her not to touch the cat, or if she does, to immediately wash her hands, obviously. We don't take special precautions when the friend comes over here (she's playing with the friend at school, anyway, and that's never been a problem). before they come give her some depending on how bad her allergy is if you are worried about a potentially severe reaction then just explain to the other parent that you need help can they wash an outfit and bring it over so that the friend can change into a "clean" no hair no dander outfit while she is visiting you. As a parent and someone with allergies I would totally understand if another parent asked this of me. We all want to keep our kids healthy and it sounds like this is a good friend they should understand. Don`t know, but you should take care. Well, first I would give my daughter her dosage of allergy medication. Let them play outside for awhile, and then you might, have them play dress up. This would cover the other child's clothing while in the house, and you the opportunity of washing the clothing they play in after she leaves, disposing of what ever bits of dander that transfers off onto the play clothes. |
