SUPER FRUSTERATED!!!!! Sinus Infection/Ear Infection/Allergies????!!!!?

I've went to Urgent care twice now and both times they've said I have an ear infection and sinus infection together. The only symptoms I've had is some hearing going in and out, light headedness and dizzyness. I don't sneeze much, don't have mucus everywhere.... if anything, I think it wont drain. I do feel like my eyes are alittle puffy and I keep getting a HOT face and they say I have a temperature each time I go into Urgent care. At this time, they've put me on 2 seperate rounds of antibiotics, Clarinex-D 24 (the sudafed one), 2 differenct nasal sprays, including Astelin (which cost me $150 alone and is supposed to work miracles). ANyways, enough bitching... the point is.... as I sit here 2 months later, I STILL have the dizzies, my face is still hot, I'm still lightheaded, and I still have headaches above my ears. This morning my right ear was pulsating weird. I've tried Neti-pot... doesn't help. What the HECK is going on?! I'm SO frusterated.....

The only reason I'm going into Urgent care is cuz my health insurance at work doesn't kick in for another month.... :(

Dont waste your time in Urgent Cares...they suck! See a specialist...an Allergist would do...or if you want to go the natural alternative way try Accupuncture from a certified accupuncturist.

Seems like you have a nasty sinus infection going on...and if you don't treat it soon enough it will cause you more misery.

I would go to a different doc other than a urgent care. One where the doc will run some test on you to find out what is going on. I've had my share of sinus infection never had one to last longer than 2 weeks though.

Go see a Specialist. Clinics like that are usually run by Physician Assistants. So they have about the same knowledge, but I believe they're not as good as doctors when it comes to diagnosing. I think you need to see an immunologist.

Have you tried taking 1200 mg of mucus relief twice a day and drink lots of water (at least 8 - 8oz glasses each day). Try this for 4 or 5 days and you should start feeling better.
Good luck

Join the club. Its the time of year and everyone with allergies feels like crap.

Here's my take on it...if you don't find relief in another day or so, I would suggest you go to get a full medical check-up. Ultimately, you might want to consider seeing a Ear, Nose & Thoat doctor (Otolaryngology/an Otolaryngologist). Have them do a thorough workup on you. You might have a serious sinus infection and your current medication is just not suited to handle it. I had a friend who had such a severe sinus infection that had been going on for months that they had to give her massive steroids on top of high doses of antibiotics.
Good luck to you.

You should not waste time anymore. Go see an ENT specialist because only they know which types of antibiotics works best against sinus infection. Besides, what you could be having are sinus infection symptoms which are the result of severe inflammation. Your ENT specialist may prescribe oral corticosteroids to hasten the treatment process.

I have had the exact symptoms you are having. Your immune system is now compromised. This means you will be having constant fever when you are off antibiotics.

What is the likely cause? You have somehow been breathing in toxic mold.

This is my story:

Last year, I fell sick and was coughing badly. But the phlegm was not colored or stained. This went on for two months and the doctor told me she was a little worried even though she said my lungs were clear from listening through the stethoscope.

I then went for a chest x-ray and the result showed that my lungs were perfectly normal. Then all of a sudden, my throat went sore for a month and I kept getting a fever frequently. Antibiotics were prescribed to stop the infection. I recovered while I was on antibiotics. But once I finished the course, I will come down with a fever a few days later.

I was at wits end and the doctor told me to consult an ENT specialist. I explained to the specialist that I was sick for 5 months with on and off fever and sore throat.

The first thing he asked me was if there is black mold where I worked and I said yes. He immediately told me that I have to move to a place where there is no black mold because the building where I worked is a sick building.

The mold I breathed in caused my immune system to deteriorate and unable to fend off any infection. Those strong doses of antibiotics caused my system to be too dependent on them to fight an infection. The sore throat which have plagued me for months is thrush because all the good bacteria in my throat were destroyed by the strong antibiotics.

I subsequently requested my boss to put me in an environment where there is no mold so that I can recuperate. The ENT specialist taught me to irrigate my sinuses regularly so that in the event that I breathe in any mold, they are flushed out before they can cause any damage to my immune system.

Since I started nasal irrigation, I have not fallen ill once and feel strong and healthy without taking any more meds. I have no more coughs and never suffered from the common cold nor the influenza.

I understand what you are going through and if the mold is present in your home, you need to be extra careful. You may even need to invest in some equipment to kill the mold or remove them so that they cannot harm you anymore.
