oregano oil helps for me, I take 24hr claritin 2x a day now so I feel your pain :( Benadryl is like drinking water now... I'm with you. Try oregano oil, it's great for clearing up your sinuses and it's good for itchy ears too. I get the liquid form as it's purer, the pill form is made of plant cellulose and since I'm allergic to alot of plants I steered clear of it, so I can't say how that works. But the liquid you can take as drops or you can apply it topically. It also has anti-bacterial/fungal properties to it. I swear by it when my allergies get really bad :) Also if you suffer from asthma at all from allergies, coffee is good for that. And yes, local honey helps strengthen your immunity for the pollen.

local honey so you can build up your immunity

I agree with the local honey theory. mind you that this will only help you become immune to the pollen in the air and not other allergies.

I have heard that honey from local bees will do the job.

get a 2nd opinion from another allergist.
