If you were lactose intollerent AND had a gluten allergy what the heck would you eat !?


my friend just got diagnosed with it and she is spending the night.

Wow I'd ask her. And get in a large supply of wine and spirits.

I am gluten and lactose intolerant. I eat plenty of fresh,whole, non processed foods. I simply do not eat the junk that other (gluten eaters) people eat and I am a LOT better for it.
You can not feed her gf because as a gluten eater your kitchen is FULL of contaminates. Get Amy's organics gluten free frozen dinners. They are in the organic frozen foods section. Right on the front of the box it will say "gluten free" if it is. Microwave and enjoy. You can get Mi-Del ginger snaps for cookies as well (if you have them in your area.) (Wait, double check that, I am not certain about lactose in those! Sorry!) I just saw that you are in Canada. Try to find AMY's Organics (frozen foods) or Taste of India is another good option. They say "gluten free" right on the package.
GF is measured in parts per million and you simply can not do it. Your cookware,utensils, pots,pans, cuttingboards all have gluten on them and there is no way to remove it all to make it safe for her. I am not being difficult, just letting you know the truth of the matter.
For breakfast, whole fruits still in the peel, rice chex, boiled eggs,something like that. Fresh strawberries are in season now, so that is a good choice!
p.s. Rice dream has barley. It is not gf. Almond Dream is gf.
Simply ask her what she would like. She will REALLY appreciate it!
For snacks, if you want junk food: potato chips, cheetos,tostitos white corn rest. style are all gf. Plain juice is good, but many sodas are also gluten free.

Go to the health store and talk with them. There are a gazillion things to eat & drink. Lots of soy products that are so yummy. Run to the grocery store right now and get some Little Cuties Soy Ice Cream Sandwhiches. They are sooooo yummy and taste just like real ice cream. My kids love love love them!! Also Almond, Rice or soy milk with a gluten free cereal. Go to the health store like a Whole Foods. Good luck

ID LUNCH ON ALFALFA SPROUTS UND LINDENBERRY TARTS, ON ARMADILLO ROAST UND SUCKATASH PIE, I WOULD HAVE A SALAD MADE FROM THE ROOTS OF CARROTS UND ONIONS UND ARUGULA. UND HAVE A RICH CHOCKOLATE CAKE FOR DESERT WITH AMALTED MADE FROM SOY MILK,,,BON APETITE....UND EAT WELL...UND STOCK UP ON COFFEMATE!

protein - meat, eggs, nuts
carbs - veggies and fruits, plain rice
no dairy products [ milk, cheese, pudding, yogurt, ice cream ]
no wheat products [ most bread, most cereal, most pasta ]

Fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, rice, fish, chicken, beef, pork, tofu, etc.

RICE

Rice pudding, rice milk, rice bread, White rice, brown rice, rice cakes.

Rice is the perfect food for someone with any kind of allergy.

On the bright side, her new diet will probably be very healthy :) I'd eat a lot of stir-fries...veggies, meat, tofu, rice or rice noodles...

go spend the night at her house. (just kidding)
