Dog wih allergies? |
I have a 7 lb dog and she has allergies i was wondering if i could giver her benydrill and if so how much? Or what else can i give her? Thanks There are several things you can give your dog that are over the counter but you should always ask your vet first to make sure you are using the right one. My dog also has allergies and my vet told me what to use and how much. A quick and free phone call will give you EXPERT advice and better then anything you will find here. Yes, you can give the dog benadryl. Benadryl may interact with other meds that your pet is taking, so do not use it without first consulting your veterinarian. You should also use extreme caution using Benadryl in dogs that have glaucoma, prostatic disease, cardiovascular disease or hyperthyroidism. My 97 pound dog has allergies and the vet suggested one tablet of Benydrill. I would call your vet and see how much dosage to give for a 7 pound dog before you give it. I had that problem and they would itch real bad. i bought a cool humidifier and put about 1/2 teaspoon of salt in it. I run it continious on low. It may just be dry skin and this will help. If you give a benadryl wrap it in a piece of sandwich meat. If it gets hung in their mouth they will foam at the mouth like they have rabies. My cat did that. Talking about scary. Change the filter about every 3 weeks. My dogs and cats have stopped itching. This is not a way out. Dogs allergies are rarely seasonal. it says about 1/2 tablet per 10 lbs. call the vet to make sure i do but i get the pill form(generic works just as good) at 7lbs only give her 1/2 a pill it deffres from dog to dog, i would take her to the vet and do what they recomend. :) My vet gave me a bottle of some stuff, and I don't know what it was called. However, do check up with your vet. |
