I have a 9 month old who loves sunflower seeds. Is this okay or does it pose a rishk for allergy? |
My husband started mushing up sunflower seeds and giving them to my 9 month old and he absolutely loves them. After reading about alergies in nuts I am beginning to worry. He has been eating them for about 3 wks. not every day of course but every now and then. Does this pose a risk for him to develope a nut allergy? If your son had a serious allergy to sunflower seeds, you would know about it by now. The serious allergies that people are worried about are anaphylactic. At its most basic, that means the throat swells up and the child can suffocate. If your child had this allergy and you didn't see it on the first time, you would have definitely seen it the second time. |
