I have a six month old who has allergies and she got prescribed claritin 5mg, is it save for her this young?

I would get a second opinion from a different doctor..just to be safe.I had a doctor try and put my son on zyrtec ....I had the prescription filled..but wasn't 100% confident that he needed it...so I waited..after about 2 weeks everything was cleared up and it hasn't been back.
Hooray!
I wouldn't put her on anything unless it is serious enough that the positives outweigh the drug negatives.
If you are able..do go to another doctor..and ask them if they think the positives outweigh the negatives.
also..see if the you and the doctor can come up with what the trigger is..like do you have pets?If it is that one..you could just keep her away from pets..move the pets outside, etc
Just an example...narrow it down to what triggers the allergy..and go medicine free from there.
Good luck!
Little ones are sooo important..I think it's awesome that you are inquiring about this rather than just following the doctors orders first.

only if prescribed by her doctor. take her to the allergist to be sure.
