Extremely bad allergies plus congestion?

I've never had allergies this bad but they're starting to affect my work. I think they're mostly outdoor allergies and seasonal but I also have congestion.

I've tried Benedryl and DayQuil together and Claritin, and I've rcently treid the generic brand of Zyr-tec D but nothing seems to be helping with both the allergies and congestion both without making me incredibly tired or congested.

Any suggestions on the best course of medicine?

There are couple simple non-prescription based things that you can do.
Avoiding the allergens is the best thing for allergy sufferers.

1. Air-conditioning: Whenever you get an opportunity then turn on the air-conditioner when inside the house and while driving.

2. Saline water: I am not sure if you have nasal cogestion or bronchial congestion. If you have nasal congestion then you can Neti-pot or Saline water to clear your sinuses.

3. Hypo-allergenic bedding: Clean your bedsheets every couple days in hot water to get rid of pollen etc. deposited on the bed during the allergy season.

The above are the top things that came to my mind. Please check out some more and pick one that might apply to your situaion from the link below.

Hope you feel better.

Try Mucinex and Psudophedrine together. They work wonders mixed together. Or you can also try a nasal spray. That will help with your congestion. The mucinex will help break up chest congestion. How long have you been experiencing these symptoms?

It takes a bit to get use to, but have you tried irrigating your sinuses with neilmed once a day. My sinuses don't rule the day anymore
