Is it possible to develop an allergy to cigarettes after smoking for many year?

I've smoked the same brand for many years. Have noticed allery-like symptoms. Please no answers hoping to scare me into quitting. Serious answers only please.

Registered Nurse here; This is one of the most interesting questions I have responded to on yahoo. First, yes one can developed an allergy to anything at anytime. Now it's interesting to me that you ask this about smoking, for I have never thought of one developing an allergy to cigarette smoking. But with all the additives that are in tobacco, over a thousand, and those additives coming from different suppliers, etc. I would say it's definitely a possibility. I should not share this, especially as a nurse, but I smoke also. Now I'm wondering if the allergies I'm suffering from are related to the cigarettes I smoke, as you I have smoked the same brand for years. Thanks for the opportunity to address's your question, and you've made me put on my thinking cap.
Cigarettes are addictive. Addictive reactions are very similar to allergic reactions.
Oh YES, and one name for it is called cancer, and there is NO future with that one!!!!
