What is the best treatment for food allergy? |
What is the best treatment for food allergy? Identification of the allegen substance, by a process of trial and elimination, and avoidance once identified is the only syre way. Palliative treatments by drugs, is temporary and recuurence can be there. Antihistamine tableta like avil, may be of immediate relief to unexpected toxic allergy. There is always an intutive dislike towards some food items, like brinjal, onion, roots etc for no rhyme or reason but may have been a result of brain command to the taste buds or olfactory nervous system, based on reactions to these in the past sustained by the body and stored in the database of neurons in the rain. So, there should be no compulsive insistence on others regarding food items, especially children. Not eating the food you are allergic to. the only and best treatment is to prevent any exposure to the allergin Treatment? As in "to cure" or "to stop the symptoms"? In general, little can be done to cure someone of an allergy. Some believe that it's possible to build up tolerances by eating gradually larger and larger quantities. While this might work, in some, it won't necessarily and can be dangerous. Stopping symptoms usually involves flushing the system in order to dilute the allergen and to get it from your system as quickly as possible. If it's a histamine issue, allergy pills (Benadyrl or Claratin) may help. Of course "allergy" is a broad term that's often misapplied to intolerances and other issues. Benadryl will have no effect on an intolerance, for example. Very good question. My son is allergic or has an intolerance to eggs and since they are such a big part of our diet I wish there were a way of curing him of that... Avoidance! But please carry an Epi-Pen and some antihistamine, just in case you are accidently exposed and react. 2 kids with severe food allergies |
