Cough @ ketchup, etc. Food allergy or what???

Everytime I bite into anything with salsa, ketchup, or BBQ sauce I instantly cough and continue to cough as long as I coontinue to eat those things. I assume its an allergy, to the tomatoes i suppose, but in my research those are not signs of an allergic reaction to tomatoes. Dont have time at the moment to get tested which I will eventually do, just thought id ask and see if anyone has similar issues???

There are also other common ingredients between the three. Avoids foods with tomatoes and see if it goes away, if it does not keep trying to eliminate things out of your diet.

Coughing can actually be a sign of an allergic (food) reaction.

I have tons of food allergies and mine is mainly face swelling.

I have some of the same problems with ketchup. I would definitely see an allergist. It may be a food allergy to one of the spices/ingredients...or possilby the spices just may cause a person to cough.

Both ketchup and BBQ sauce usually contain vinegar, which makes some people cough.

I don't know why though.
