Why are peanut allergies always the deadliest?

...as opposed to every other allergy.

Also, are there other common "deadly" allergies BESIDES peanuts?

PB&J were standard lunch fare whether you packed your lunch or the school cafeteria provided it. I don't ever remember anyone having a reaction to it. I know allergies are very real. I have some of my own. But I really wonder if peanuts are the culprit, or if it's something that's being put on peanuts nowadays, possibly in the growing phase. People used to think they were allergic to cats and their hair. Now we know that it is cat dander and saliva that we're allergic to. I once read a story in a Reader's Digest about a man who thought he was allergic to black pepper. But to his amazement, he realized that when he had pepper from out of a pepper grinder put directly on his food he had no reaction at all. So he took a sample of ground pepper out of his shaker at home and sent it in to be tested. He found that his allergy was not to black pepper at all. Before I tell you what his allergy was to, I want to tell you I worked as a state inspector and have actually taken samples and seen the results of ground black pepper being tested. My family no longer buys ground black pepper, we grind the pepper corns ourselves. The man I mentioned above, was allergic to cockroaches. So because of life experience, I really wonder if the humble goober is the culprit it's made out to be. I have a strange allergy to some seafoods. Like I can eat female blue crab, til it's coming out my ears, but if I eat a male crab, my feet and hands turn blue and swell, and my heart rate is messed up. Seafood allergies can be very deadly.

Many of the newer aftershaves, perfumes and colognes block my sinuses and give me tremendous headaches. The older ones like Old Spice, English Leather, Brute, Aqua Velva don't bother me at all. It's got to be a change in the formulations.

Any allergy can be deadly. For some reason, peanut allergies are pretty common and something about dry roasting peanuts makes them even more allergenic to young children who have peanut allergies. Nobody knows why.

OH YA! most people dont but i hav of the charts deadly dairy allergies if u spill milk on me i could go into anaphylactic shock n die! so heres my list of deadly 1s i no of!

-milk (not very common)
this can ether be allergies 2 whey which is a component in milk or allergies 2 the milk protean (i hav both)

-exercise induced Anafilaxia or EIA (not very common)
basically if u have this it means ur allergic 2 exercise i no it sounds crazy but its tru my friend almost died cuz she has this

-seafood
seafood such as fish and shellfish are even more common than peanuts my sister is deathly allergic 2 fish and so is my cuzen (u can see this runs in the fam!)

-insect stings and bites
bee stings hurt like hell but some people are deathly allergic 2 them (i dont no amy1 with this allergy so i dont no what the reaction is)

-spider bites
no spiders r not insects so they get there own category!

-proteans in general
the thing people usually react 2 in foods is protean

-medications
meds have tuns of different stuff in them so its not very surprising that there are allergens in them sometimes

-tomatoes

-strawberries

-soy

-wheat

-mushrooms
ya another cuz whos alergic 2 this 1 2!

-eggs
EGGS ARE NOT DAIRY HOW STUPID CAN U GET 2 THINK THAT! THEY DONT RELATE 2 EACH OTHERS COMPONENTS AT ALL!

yes its a food allergy they put dies in food all the time

dust, pollen, molds an other airborne allergens can b deadly if u hav asthma iv had 2 go t=2 the ER cuz of these microscopic lil buggers

Exposure is frequent. The more you are exposed the more violent the reaction each subsequent exposure. Others would include bee stings, latex, strawberries, eggs, shell fish, animal dander are a few.

im going to hazard a guess and say nut tends to be the most deadly because of it being a food and so an allgeric reaction in the mouth closes up air way.
