My 8 yr old's vomiting daily since Oct Endoscopy, allergy testing, Brain MRI neg. Not stressed. Any Ideas? |
She's on a diary free diet, she tested neg. for allergies to Glutin and Soy. She may be Lactose intolerant, when she took the breath test she threw up within five minutes of swallowing the Lactose (makes you wonder how it could ferment that quickly). There doesn't seem to be a pattern to when she vomits (day, night, mornings, weekends, on vacation, at school...) We've asked her if anyone's hurting her and she says no. Her teachers report she's happy and doing fine in school. No exceptional stresses at home. The endoscopy showed a few abnormal cells but the GI doc said it was nothing to worry about. In addition to the vomiting she complains of constant stomach aches but says they're all over her stomach, not in any one place. This past summer we travelled to greece and Italy but haven't been anywhere else outside of US and Canada. Any thoughts what else we should check for? BTW, this is a kid who almost never complained about physical pain. 8 years old is not too young for anorexia or other eating disorders. Also, I know someone who had similar symptoms while in middle school. His tonsils apparently were large enough to make contact with his uvula (that little thing that hangs down in the back of your throat.) Everytime his tonsils touched it, he'd gag and vomit. Once the tonsils were removed, he was fine. GO TO DOCTOR!!!! You may have picked up a worm or bug of some sort. dont let your wife cook does the GI doc know about the daily vomiting? call now. you need to get it stopped because dehydration can be deadly. it may be that the child isn't getting all the amino acids. this could depend on the diet. If the child eats meat he/she will get all amino acids. This could also be a Psychological problem. Take a really good look at the child's daily agenda and who child spends time with. Watch the shows your child watches to see if there is something Im a C.P. Biology Student. any fever? my son who is non-verbal was so sick for months....vomiting......no sleep.....no eating......the dr's did a test, i forget the name, but it was: DRAWING BLOOD, then extracting the white blood cells, tag them with nuclear dye...then reinsert them into my son..........put him in nuclear scanning.........the white blood cells were tracked as they went straight to the infection, as white cells normally do, fight infection. problem finally found. |
