What are the most hypo-allergenic dogs, i.e. least dander/allergy causing breeds? |
Please, no personal stories, just directions to websites where I can view the information. Bichon Frise! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/bichon_fris... Very loyal, protective, smart, and friendly. They like children and crowds. Love to be spoiled and cuddled. You can have their hair cut into something called a "puppy cut" that is short and easy to manage. If you take a Bichon to the groomer once a month they really aren't that hard to take care of. Costs us about $50 a month to have our Bichon groomed. If this doesn't sound like the dog for you, check out the links other people provided for a list of similar breeds. Most people are fine with dogs that have hair instead of fur but before you adopt any dog make sure you check with an allergist or spend some time around the breed to be certain that you aren't sensitive to them. Good luck! I know schnoodles are pretty hypoallergenic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/schnoodle... I believe short hair breeds who are bathed and groomed often are okay, too. Poodles. Try the following website: http://sweet-lucys.com/allergybreeds.htm... It has a lot of good info about dog breeds for allergy sufferers. I do not have a website for you, but I do know that the silky terrier breed does not cause allergies. Poodles they have hair not fur. Try searching for "Hypoallergenic dog breeds". The following are some sources: http://dogs.about.com/od/dogbreeds/a/hyp... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/hyperallerg... http://www.dog-pawlor.com/hyperallergeni... |
