What kind of antibiotic can i take if i have a pennicilin allergy? if u had asked this question 50 yrs back doctors would have been in real trouble. but now loads of other options are available... quinolones e.g. ciprofloxacin, macrolides e.g. erythromycin, cephalosporins e.g. cefradin, ceftriaxone... the list goes on. however, choice of antibiotic depends on the nature of the organism, i.e. the bacteria. we live in a age of scientific excellence baby, at least in some fields! Erythromycin i'm allergic to penicillin, and i have taken it before for UTI's. Omnicef or that pink one! Also, there's a white one (I don't reccomend it, it's gross!) ask your doctor they have to write the script anyway It depends on if you have a cold or STD or UTI, but hear are some names if you have a cold: in general, Zithromax and Levagin; forgive me if that's the wrong spelling. Now if you have an STD it would be another type of antibiotic. Important: go to your doctor, and have him write a presciption for you because these prescriptions can not be purchased over-the-counter, or on the internet. So go to your doctor and tell him/her your symptoms so you'll get the right antibiotic, it is very important that you get the right antibiotic, if you don't...your allergy will get worse.
