Is it safe to take more than 2 tablets of tylenol severe allergy a day?

it says that you can take 1-2 doses every 4-6 hours but no more than 6 doses in 24 hours...but is this safe to do on a daily bases? just seems to me that this is a lot of Diphenhydramine HCl, considering each tablet contains 12.5 mg

i have very bad allergies...and 10mg loratine of claritin (24 hours) do not work very well

follow directions on box
I think the box also tell you that after several days of taking the recommended amounts, if nothing changes, to see your doctor. It should be safe to take for a few days as directed.
Is it safe to snort tylenol?
Since you have allergies that severe, I would talk to my doctor about getting on a stronger prescription med. I have very severe allergies and finally was put on Singular, one pill daily and haven't had any problems since. Hope this helps you!
During the spring/summer months I take Tylenol Severe Allergy everyday. I usually take them every 5-6 hours or so, and the PM version at night before bed. I am still alive and kicking. You just have to make sure not to take any other allergy medicines or any other pain medications at the same time. Especially no other Tylenol products. The Diphenhydramine is the thing that overdoses most people. Make sure to drink lots of water.

You just have to be aware that it will stop working after a while, same with Claritin. I usually have to take one for a month or 2 and then switch to the other until that stops working, then change back.

Another thing, if you are taking any medications, vitamins, or herbs that are "boosting you immune system" stop taking them! They make your allergies worse. I was taking herbs to boost my immune system in the winter months and my allergies got 10 times worse!
Diphenhydramine is not the reason why there is a limit as to how many of these you can take - I've seen 100-150mg prescribed per day. It's the tylenol that can hurt you (specifically, liver damage) if you take more than the recommended amount each day.

The other ingredients in Tylenol severe allergy/cold really won't hurt you too bad if you take a bit more than the recommended amount.

If you have severe allergies, ask your doctor for the following -

Flonase - a nasal steroid spray that works WONDERS for allergies. Top ten prescription item in the country.

Allegra/Zyrtec - these are antihistamines that may work for you if claritin does not work.

If your product is not working for you even if you take it daily, it may be time to talk to your doctor about the above remedies or ask him for an alternative diagnosis just in case you have something else going on.
trust me.
