Yes to the asthma - are you in UK? If so anything you have to help someone to do entitles you to financial help from the authorities. Unfortunately I don't know the ins and outs of other countries support systems.

That being said I would go to the social security office where you live and ask. Because the quote about does state a child could have your social security benifit.
