Zyrtec doesnt have an "equivalent" it doesnt even have a generic brand....Its name brand and expensive!
Consult a pharmacist and or physician before taking OTC drugs, especially if you have any health conditions and or allergies to medications.
Docs always recommend Claritin and you can purchase over the counter....although it doesnt work for me.
There are other non drowsy alternatives over the counter and the pharmacist could help you out with that.
I don't believe there are any generic specific to Zyrtec, but Claratin has some varieties that work great! Ask your pharmacist where you get your RX filled and see what they recommend.
not directly its still under patent...if usual antihistamines bother you, you can try claritin... if not diphenhydramine is the classic, and very cheap.
I do not know of an OTC Zyrtec...the common OTC allergy meds are Claritin and Alavert (same thing) and Benadryl.
Last I knew there was NOT a generic form of Zyrtec available. And so far, we haven't found anything over the counter that works as well for our son.
It doesn't look like it, according to Walgreen's website.
