I recently got a Henna tatoo and I'm scared that I may have an allergy to it?

When do you know you have an alergy? What are the symptoms?

If you have an allergic reaction you will see a rash emerge in the shape of the henna design and you will be itchy and not be too happy. This usually happens with black henna which is not natural and contains chemicals. I really hope you didn't get one of those. Please see your doctor if you have any symptoms.
If you used 100% natural henna which dyes reddish brown tones then you should be okay. Source(s): http://www.hennasooq.com
Itching, swelling. Get rid of the tatoo quickly.
When my family went to virginia beach we all got henna tattoos. My dad was allergic to his. What happened was it got all puffy (like how some black people get tattos and they are raised up because of their skin) Thats what it looked like. Also it was red around the whole thing, then the skin got flakey and itchy.
The symptoms have already been listed but as someone who is also allergic to henna tats I wanted to add that you can use a cortisone cream to relieve the itching and burning until it goes away. Benedryl may help as well.
