I have a swollen feeling in my throat that comes and goes. Is it an allergy and how can I find out?

The feeling comes and goes but is more often than not there. I've been to the doctors and they say is it stress but I am not convinced. Has anyone had something similar and sorted it?

I have never heard of stress causing that, but I guess it could.

The safest suggestion I have is to try taking Benadryl when you notice the swelling starting. If it seems to feel somewhat better after 20-30 minutes, then it is most likely allergies and not stress related. Then you can get back with the Dr.
If it doesn't help, then it is probably not allergies. The benadryl will not hurt you if it isn't.
Good Luck!
Yeah, I had that. It turned out I'd accidently swallowed my microwave oven. Once it went the whole way down, I was fine. You may have swallowed a toaster, washing machine or something like that. You'll be ok.
