Used a lubricated condom now I'm itching and burning in the vagina especially when urinating. Allergy? |
Is this a reation to the latex or the lubrication? No history of latex allergies. What will get rid of it? If it burns when you urinate it could be a urinary tract infection. See your doc and get your urine checked to rule out a urinary tract infection. theres always a first time It could be the lubricant. Personally it does occaisionally bother me, spermicide is the worst. some people are not neccesarily allergic but it irritates them, latex not the lubricant, it probably would have been worse without the lubricant, i know. you can try lamb skin but its not as effective against stds. it is probably an infection that can be treated with antibiotics. The itching and burning indicate some form of irritation. Since you have no history of latex allergies and allergies to the lubrication are rare i believe it is an infection. I am allergic to the spermacide on the condoms. You might need treatment for a yeast infection-call doc or use OTC method. Many women react to latex, the spermacidal jelly, and/or the lubricant. I would strongly suggest that you clear up this irritation before you change brands and when you do change brands opt for the simplest 1 you are able to find. Avoid dyes (colors), textures, edibles, perfumed (scented), and lubricants. The vagina is self lubricating and if you are not lubricating you may not be in the mood. Finally - sexual activity may be associated with infection and this possibility should be considered. |
