My husband's mouth breaks out with sores when he eats nuts that have been cooked. Could this be an allergy? |
His mouth doesn't break out when he eats raw or roasted nuts from a container, just when they're cooked in something such as a pie. He especially has problems with walnuts. Yes, sounds like it! Try this website, Http://www.webmd.com Absolutely could be an allergy, my nephew reacts the same way... only has a reaction when nuts are cooked. maybe there is something in the pie. Also, when you cook something you change its chemical makeup to some degree. My advice is either stop eating that or go to the doctor and get checked. Alergys to nuts os quite comon. It might like an oil that he is lergic to, u need to look at labels and see and if there is anything different in the ingrediants if not then i would go see a doctor cause it could get worse if it is an allergy Absoluely an allergy - he should stay away from cooked nuts - period and be careful as the allergy may become more involved and he might have an allergic reaction to nuts in any form. Perhaps make sure you have antihistamine in the house and he should have an allergy test - if the Doctor confirms the allergy, he should also carry an Epi pen with him at all times. |
