If I eat/drink a little dairy, nothing happens, but if I eat too much, I get gas/diarrhea, is this an allergy? |
My sister has this problem too, and we both thought it was normal up until a while back. My brother is lactose intolerant, could it be this? I also wanted to know if there was anything I could do to help with this problem? I am completely clueless. Please somebody help me. You have the same thing as me which is that you are lactose intolerant. People who do not have enough lactase to digest the amount of lactose they consume may feel very uncomfortable when they digest milk products. Common symptoms, which range from mild to severe, include nausea, cramps, bloating, gas, and diarrhea. Symptoms begin about 30 minutes to 2 hours after eating or drinking foods containing lactose. The severity of symptoms depends on many factors, including the amount of lactose a person can tolerate and a person鈥檚 age, ethnicity, and digestion rate. I use an off brand dairy digestive supplement to help me be able to have larger quantaties of dairy. I bought mine at walmart off the shelf and it was like $6 for 60 caplets. Thank you very much for your advice, It helped me a lot. I love the dairy digestive pills. THANKS! :) u r lactose intolerant but only in higher dosage of lactose.i guess. u just need to not eat dairy in large amount. =) Sounds like either an allergy or an intolerance. One way to find out if is lactose intolerance is to try some lactaid (pills or milk). You can also get an allergy test to find out if it is indeed an allergy. Note that sometimes you can have an intolerance to all milks. My daughter can not tolerate milk at all, whether it be cows, coy, lactose free, or rice. Hope this helps at all. Good luck. Sounds like lactose intolerance. Drink lactose free milk. If you are going to eat dairy, there are pills you can take first that will help with the side effects of the intolerance. Try lactose free milk and see if it helps. I love it. It tastes sweeter than regular milk. My friend has this problem as well. Her doctor told her to take Acidophilus supplements (make sure you get the refrigerated kind). It can be purchased in most natural food stores. |
