Allergies - should I have a skin prick test?

I went in to anaphylactic shock due to a hair dye product.
I have a hospital apointment to have a skin prick test to determine what substance in the hair dye I am allergic to.
I am scared to have the skin prick test after how I reacted. Is there another way for me to find out what I am allergic to?

i understand your dubious to be exposed to the chemicals that made you so ill, but the amount they give you in control environment it minimal. its probably the PPD chemical which is in all dark hair dyes or the resorcinol. which is also in hair dye.

do not panic you will be fine and its best to know what caused this violent reaction so you can avoid it - keep you epi pen with you and wear a medi alert bracelet/necklace ....................

remember this small simple test could save your life in future!

HAVE A PRICK SKIN CHECK INSTEAD

there is no other way. but it wiil be fine i had one done when i was 12 and it didnt hurt too bad just dont look.
