Allergies Questions!?

I was wondering do you get/catch allergies or born with it. Also can obtain allergies overtime like you weren't allergic to cats but after a long time you are now. Can you get rid of allergies like you used to be allergics to cats but now your not.

P.S. I been having stuff noise during spring and this never happen before. I live Seattle and it was sunny today. Yesterday (Saturday) was sunny and it didn't happen that time.

I'm very allergic to cats my asthma acts up when I'm in a house or in
a apartment with them and it doesn't matter if the person put them in
anther room. Like me and all people who are allergic to cats are
allergic to the cat dander.

These skin cell particles become airborne and can be breathed in and also will adhere to most things including carpets, curtains and furnishings. It also adheres to clothing and can be spread on people's clothing to areas where no cat exists.

That is true when ever my boyfriend goes to a house or a apartment
that have cats and when he comes home and if I hug him my asthma
will start acting up again because he has cat dander on his cloths from siting on their furniture or petting their cat.

I was born with allergies and asthma, It's genetic in my family.
allergies and asthma useally go together.

No I don't think you can get rid of cat allergies, but you might be able

Nasonex Nasal spray helps a lot with my allergies. I'm aslo allergic to
dust mites in dust. My nose get really congested (stuffed up) or my

Some people are born with allergies but you can also develop allergies overtime. My was born without allergies to animals but he suddenly became allergic to them in his late teens.

Im not sure if you can get rid of your allergies completely though.

Like Amy said - you can get allergies to fabric softeners overtime. Im allergic to certain kinds of fabric softeners.

I think you can be born with allergies, or at least you develop them when you're very young. You can pick up allergies for no reason at any age. An example would be fabric softener -- sometimes people just become sensitive to them. I'm not sure if you can all of a sudden not be allergic to something.

There are many triggers for allergies, some of it is genetic, but your environment plays a big role. Polluted cities have higher rates of allergies/asthma for example.
