Any truth to the saying that fair complected infants/children are more prone to allergies and ear infections?

I have heard this on several occasions and was wondering if there is any truth behind it or is it just a theory or an old wives tale?

I'm olive, Italian. My son he's so white his skin is transparent no joke, when hes cold his lips and face looks purple. He's three now. He has had lots of allergy problems. I think its mostly because his biological father who he doesn't live with and see's every other weekend, he smokes. I think that's the cause but, it could be the fair skin??? I don't know.

My daughter is fair...and she had infections every 4mos. But when she got her hearing tested, she failed. 3 more tests she took, and she failed. S0o, we took her to the AZ School for the deaf for a super-duper advanced hearing test. Although her hearing WAS within the normal range, the test revealed a high amount of "negative pressure". The doctor said that her Eustachian tube adjuster was not mature enough to do it's job. He said that chances are what was diagnosed as ear infections were probably not... but were due to the malfunction. He suggested otc ear cleaning solutions every 3mos. After a year of doing this, she no longer gets "ear infections". The doctor said that keeping the ears clean with these solutions allows the Eustachian tube adjusters to mature and to their job smooothly. Sort of like a shot of WD40 in a rusty lock. I was happy to finally get the proper diagnosis and find out that an ear infection MAY NOT entirely an ear infection.

I have never heard that.
My daughter has red hair and very fair skin the only thing her pediatrician said about it is "She is like a porcelain doll, you have to be careful with her in the sun."

well, maybe that is right. because we see dark skin people , they are strong and have healthy skin...any that is true...lool
