Are there allergies that could cause a person to get headaches when using a computer?

I have a lot of food allergies and sensitivities to certain chemicals and I was wondering if I've developed an allergy to something having to do with my computer. I've really had to limit my computer use because of the headaches. Thanks for any input!

It's not an allergy as such- but watching the computer monitor without taking breaks away from it periodically can indeed cause eye strain and headaches. Some monitors and color combinations are worse than others.

Talk with an eye doctor, and meanwhile continue limiting your computer exposure.

Good luck!

(I love how you have to use a computer to post this lol)

Does a dust allergy give you headaches? Dust usually builds up inside computers, and the fans are constantly forcing small amounts of it out into the air.

Also, certain monitors are harder on your eyes and can give you a headache...I would suggest searching online for a monitor (usually a CRT) thats easier on the eyes.

It may not be allergies. Have you had an eye exam lately? Some vision problems can cause headaches.

I agree about the eye exam. Sounds like you may need glasses.
