Allergic to birth control? or food allergy? |
So I'm nauseous all the time. (I know I'm not pregnant) I used to think it was my birth control, but I keep changing it and I know it's not that. At least it doesn't seem to be unless I'm allergic to all kinds pills, and now ring. I'm wondering if I have a food intolerance. But it's been very difficult to narrow it down to what makes me feel sick. Sometimes I have diarrhea, some times I'm constipated. I'm usually nauseous. And now I have bad stomach pain/cramps, not from period or anything. I'm also always tired and fatigued. Oh and stress makes it so much worse. I'm planning on going to the doctor to get allergy tests, but any ideas now? I've tried writing down what I eat, but it doesn't help. Definately go get allergy testing done. While you're out seeing doctors, go see your regular doc and have a Celiac panel done. Celiac and Food allergies often have a lot of the same symtoms. Celiac is something generally everyone should probably have tested anyway. Some people don't even show symptoms of it, until they get colon cancer or some other awful thing that causes the doctors to get a closer look at the intestine and then the damage is seen. So if nothing else, get it checked out. I'm glad to hear you've done a food diary. Two things came to mind when you said you couldn't figure it out. Corn Allergy/Intolerance and Celiac (gluten-intolerance). Both of those hide in other foods so much that you can eat them at every meal and not realize it.. making your food journaling indeciferable. (corn is also in your BC pills as a filler/binder) You may also want to have your A1C checked (diabetes test - regular doctor can do this) and maybe a fasting blood sugar level. Insulin resistance, PCOS, and Diabetes can cause problems with hormone levels which may be why you feel like you're reacting to your BC, as your body may be freaking out at the daily hormone dose. This is not food intolerances unless you have a problem with all kinds of food. You should be checked for Crohn's Disease. Check this link but it sounds like what you describe: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/crohns-... does diabetes run in your family? other symptoms might be dry mouth, frequent urination, yeast infections, if so get tested! |
