Weird allergy!!? |
when i use certain types of sunscreen on my face, i tend to have this weird reaction where i turn red. i just don't know what ingredients are making me break out because i don't use sunscreen often. i don't even know if it is the sunscreen, but i have a good feeling it is. is this serious? i don't wanna end up with melanoma :P are there any OTC subsitutes out there? I suspect it is the PABA in the sunscreen otherwise you probably would have problems with other products such as soap and lotions. Find one that is PABA-free and try that. If the irritation stops then your problems is solved. IIf not, then I would recommend seeing a dermatologist for patch testing to figure out exactly what ingredient it is that is bothering you. probably just senstive skin. Try a lower SPF. pl.dont use sunscreen facecreams, not advisable .just avoid the sun.wear caps&goggles Take the sunscreen you are using to the chemist and ask if you could be allergic to any of it's ingredients. You may need to stick to natural products. These are easily obtained through a health shop or from your local Avon Lady. Good luck. there is the neutrogena brand for sensitive skin that has a sunscreen specificly for the face and it should say on the back of the bottle PABA Free some people are allergic to paba try a small area first just to make sure you dont break out good luck I would check the bottle for either lanolin or parabens and methylparabens. Both are known allergens exp. in people with sensitive skin. I have highly sensitive skin and will only use Aveeno. It is the only product I can tolerate. I am an RN and have been plagued with skin allergies since infancy. |
