Allergy to Cortisone??


Has anyone ever heard of someone breaking out with hives after having a cortisone shot ? Many years ago I had a shot for sciatica and recall having red welts on my skin. Now I have sciatica again, and a painful knee. My MD is hesitant to give me pain meds because I have only 1 kidney and am 78 years old.
Any person with medical knowledge PLEASE HELP!!
