Allergy-swollen glands?

Hi! I just recently bought a puppy (Havenese) whose breed is great for people with allergies. However, my glands are very tender and swollen and it hurts a little to swallow. Could I be having an allergy to my dog? Are swollen glands a symptom of allergies? I take prescription Zyrtec everyday for my allergies. Or do you think it could possibly be a bacterial infection? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your swollen glands do not sound like an allergic reaction to me. Common symptoms include itchy skin, runny nose, watery eyes. Still, you can only be sure by asking your doctor.

Swollen glands aren't usually caused by allergies. You probably just have a virus that will go away in a few days. Any dog can cause allergies though, so even if you bought one that is good for people with allergies it is still possible that you are allergic to it. But if you were allergic you would probably be sneezing and have itchy, watery eyes.
This may or may not help you, however I know of a scientifically proven product that helps reduce indoor allergen particles in the air. It also helps with smoke and its odor, pollen, mold, mildew, pet dander and odor, and other air borne particles. My son has suffered from allergies for a while and after using this product he is better. I know of other people this product has helped with their allergies.
