Has anyone ever developed allergies while they were pregnant?

I'm 6 months pregnant and have never had allergies in my life. Recently I started getting really itchy eyes and mild nasal congestion. My doctor seems to think its allergies. He said it may be pregnancy related. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Have you gotten allergies while you were pregnant, but never before that? If so, do they go away after baby is born?

I always had basic allergies (hay fever)...

But during my pregnancy I became allergic to STRAWBERRIES!! They were my fave food..but they gave me hives, rash and swollen lips and eyes! It was the strangest thing. But I had some strawberries last month (4 mo. after delivery) and I was fine. My OBGYN told me it was very common to develop an allergy to foods I never was allergic to before.
Before my mother became pregnant with me, she had terrible hay fever. When I entered the picture, her allergies stopped. Then, eight years later, she became pregnant with my brother. Her allergies returned. I'm afraid there's just something about pregnancy that wreaks havoc on every single system in the body.
I got allergies around 4 months. Congestion mainly. It went away around 7 months. I'm perfect now. But usually women develope allergies from pregnancy and it sticks, but I dont think its as bad after the baby is born.
Oh yeah, everything is out of wack when you are pregnant. When I am pregnant I am allergic to Hazelnuts and white gold! (I know that is the weirdest thing ever) I had to take off my wedding rings both times I was pregnant because I would start to develop a rash going up my arm but as soon as baby popped out I was fine. Your hormones are going crazy right now so yes it is perfectly normal.
31 weeks preggo with baby girl #2!
Yes, I hadn't ever been allergic to anything in my life until I became pregnant. Not only did I develope an allergy to my dog, but I developed a really strange allergy to decaf tea, everytime I would drink it my tongue would swell for hours so the doctor had to give me benadryl for that one. But luckily once I had the babies they disappeared just as quickly as the came.
I used to have just seasonal allergies but then i got preg. with my first daughter and it seemed like i was allergic to everything, it went away after i had her then when i got preg. with my 2nd it was worse then the first. same as first they went away and with my third it got so bad that i couldnt breath and felt like i was dieing. i went to an allergist after i had her and found out along with seasonal allergies that i was also allergic to beef, pork, milk, cows, horse, dogs and cats. so with all my pregnancies my allergies got worse and now i have 12 diff. types of meds to support my allergies. good luck and congrats.
