Corn or seed oil allergies? |
Are corn or seed oil allergies treatable? If so, curable? Many foods have these contents, and it causes a lot of unwanted trouble. Also: how does a person develop these allergies if they were not present in childhood or young adulthood? I have an allergy to corn as well as to some other foods, and it can be very frustrating. Allergies to foods usually aren't curable, however, sometimes they do go away on their own. Allergies can develop at any time, and no one knows why this can happen. My corn allergy developed a year ago (I'm 24), I was never allergic to any foods before this. Once you do eliminate corn, your allergy symptoms should go away. Good luck! Here are some helpful links for information about corn allergies: http://www.cornallergens.com/ http://forums.delphiforums.com/avoidingc... http://corn-freefoods.blogspot.com/.... Allergies aren't really cureable, although sometimes the severity changes over time. It seems as though they can develop at any point in life, usually after a physical trauma, major infection, period of stress, pregnancy, surgery, or certain medications. I know what its like to avoid a common additive (wheat, wow its in everything) and I've spoken to people who have to avoid corn (wow its in everything too) so I understand that its a huge pain. There are some drugs that can mask the symptoms, but they don't stop damage from being done and leave you vulnerable to infections. |
