Pregnancy related allergies?

Is it possible to become allergic to something that you're not normally allergic to when you're pregnant? I was wearing some foundation last night that I haven't worn in a while, but I've never had a problem with it. I washed my face before going to bed last night, and woke up with red blotches all over my face this morning. The facial wash is something I use on a regular babsis, so I don't think that's it. Could I now be allergic to the foundation? The rest of the makeup is stuff I use daily.

TIA!

It's VERY possible!! I was never allergic to onions until I got pregnant with my first. I still can't touch them and she's 13! Our bodies go through a LOT of changes when we are pregnant, so don't be too surprised if you find you're allergic to a few other things also.
Pregnant or not, it is always possible to develop a new allergy. In addition, pregnancy can make you more sensitive to some chemicals, so use them carefully.
Very possible.

Also, if you haven't used it in a while bacteria (ick I know) may have grown inside it and it caused the reaction.

Pregnancy skin is very strange, and some things bother it while others don't.

Don't use the fondation again and if it goes away and doesn't come back you can safely say it is that. Although I've heard many women with the same 'wash face, wake up all red in the morning' problem. Seems anything can set it off!
Yes you can. Your skin becomes more sensitive than it was pre-preg so washing powder, skin creams etc that you were able to use before you may find you have increased sensitivity to now. Try to use unperfumed soap powder and un-scented skin creams like Nivea or Johnsons Baby Lotion.

Being preg also made my skin fantastic so I have not found the need to wear much make-up but when I do I go for the very basics. What's the point in Blooming if you cover it up?
don't forget with pregnancy comes hormones that go haywire, it is more than likely your skin is more sensitive now to something in the foundation than before. your senses of smell and taste can also be affected by pregnancy; i hated the smell of my bf's cologne when i was pregnant, and i hated the taste of mac n cheese, something i had always loved to eat. try using something made just for sensitive skin if you have to use something at all. give your skin time to heal itsself from the blotchy spots and see how you feel. good luck!!
Yes it is possible.

I have chronic eczema and my dr said to me that in the majority of cases when a person becomes pregnant you become more sensitive to everything which could cause my eczema to be a lot worse. Some people's allergies actually get better with pregnancy and that's what's happening to me. My eczema is next to nothing.

Our bodies seem to do strange things when we're pregnant.
