Has anyone heard of treating dog allergies with olive oil? If so how is it used? Thanks for your help.? Ive heard of using it with mites But its just as easy and less mess to get meds from the vet. No if have never heard of that... It's probably a joke I have a dog with allergies and never used olive oil. What worked for my dog was California Natural food - designed for allergic dogs, biweekly baths to remove allergens from his coat and regular flea control with Frontline Plus. No, I've never heard of that either. What type of allergies are you talking of? Food allergies, skin allergies? Any treatments should be discussed with your vet. No but we give our dogs flax seed oil and it seems to me that it would be for similar purposes. The oils are very good for the coat and skin, which is where most dogs allergies affect them. They don't usually get runny nose but more itchy skin than anything. The flax seed oil helps ours a lot but in the summer it is still pretty bad, so during the summer months we keep him on pills, then stop when the pollen starts wearing off. |
