Is there anything strong than claritan-D for allergies?

My husband has allergies and claritan doesn't always help. Can the doctor prescribe something better. Does anyone have any suggestions. It drives me crazy that he sneezes all day and it really bothers him.

Claritin-D contains the anti-histamine loratadine and the decongestant pseudoephedrine. I have not recommended decongestants for a very long time. As some have suggested fexofenadine/Allegra and cetirizine/Zyrtec may be a little bit stronger than loratadine/Claritin (or its active metabolite desloratadine/Clarinex). Nonetheless - the issue for me is whether an anti-histamine is what you should be taking. I would advise a corticosteroid nasal spray (such as the fluticasone/Flonase referred to). The use of these has relegated anti-histamines to add-on status and even then I question when break-through symptoms occur that you need an antibiotic rather than simply adding an anti-histamine. Corticosteroid nasal sprays are safe and virtually devoid of side effects. They are available only by prescription however and they are not inexpensive.
Almost anything! I've been on Allegra for a few years and it works wonders. Claritin never did squat for me, I don't advise Claritin ever.
Zyrtec ...... i tried the claritan -D and it never worked for me...
i used regular claritan with no D in it and that worked for a year... maybe it's time for him to see an allergist and get tested to see what it is he's allergic to...then he can receive allergy injections and eventually he will no longer be allergic to whatever is causing him to sneeze
Allegra has worked for me. Flonase also works good.
I had the same problem! i went to the doctor recently and she proscribed Allegra and singular! these medicines are stronger and work much better, and aren't too expensive, i take them both daily!
BECONASE AQ Nasal Spray is the best I've ever found. You'll need an Rx to get it tho.
i would advise u to ask ur doctor about Zyrtec it really does help
