A far relative in my family has alzheimer's disease and it is very heartbreaking....Sometimes she gets lucid..?

...and accuses the family of stealing from her when she has the money or jewelery right on her dresser in full view, after she has these "flare ups" she usually forgets them but sometimes she remembers is there anything we can so she can feel a little better,or is there anything we can give her?

There are medications that can be used to help with Alzheimer's behavioral problems, although none of it will change the disease itself. What you observe is one of the reasons families caring for the Alzheimer's patient have so many challenges. She would tend to forget the incidents, and she will forget even more as time passes. Fortunately none of it seems to be particularly distressing to the person suffering, and they reach a point where they forget they have forgotten. Whoever is caring for this lady needs to speak with her doctor and let them know what sort of challenges and behavior problems she has. They also could use some assistance, so they are not always the only one providing care. As far as the elderly lady goes, she will feel just fine. The disease is much harder on those around her than it is on her.

You have great answers above, I just wanted to add that...
Whatever she does or says in a "flare up", don't take it personal. Let others know also not to take it personally. It's the disease that does this to her. She's not even aware of her behavior. I work in a strictly alzheimer's care center, and you learn that quickly. Some may even become combatible, but they can't help it.
Maybe you can make her a special box, and label it with a "picture" (money sign or picture of jewelrey/money), so she always knows where it is. You can just copy and paste pictures to your computer & print them out, tape them to the box.
I wish you well, sorry about your relative. I don't have relatives with alzheimer's, but in the center, I "live" with a lot of them each day.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything you can do. I am dealing with my mother who has Alzheimer's. She has become a paranoid, suspicious woman. She is always sure someone is taking her clothes and other things. Everyone just needs to be aware that it is the disease that does this. Do not ever accept anything this relative may try to give you, so that no one can say you took something of hers.
