Does anyone know anything about (AIS) or androgens insenitivity syndrome? jamie lee curtis has this. it means that your body produces androgens (which are associated with male hormones) but lacks the receptors necessary to produce testosterone. so basically, one is a genetic male, but does not produce testosterone so they look like women, and have female genitalia on the outside, but are not women internally or chemically. its a very complicated subject. an intersesting note is that these people do not have pubic hair Androgen insensitivity syndrome (AIS, or "Androgen resistance syndrome") is a set of disorders of sexual differentiation that results from mutations of the gene encoding the androgen receptor. |
