What is the chromosome number that Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome affects?

What is the chromosome number that Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome affects?

Chromosome 23 carries the gene. Specifically, the "X" chromosome. It is linked to the Androgen Receptor.

Notably, while each normal human cell has 46 chromosomes, there are only 23 types of chromosomes, and each human cell has two copies of each type. The 23rd chromosome is the X and Y chromosomes. When talking about genes carried on the 23rd chromosome, it is normal to specify it simply as the X or the Y chromosome, as both carry different genes. This is the only chromosome pair where the different forms (X and Y) carry different sets of genes.
