Could this be social anxiety disorder? |
When I talk to people I sometimes say stupid stuff because I get all nervous. I really don't know how to make conversation with people I hang around. I get nervous before I even meet someone. I just get nervous talking to people. I get nervous ordering food. Point is I get stupid nervous. But sometimes I can be this whole other person. If I'm looking good one day I'm probably full of myself and I can be cool without being nervous. But that only happens once in every 3 months not even. I hate being this nervous little shadow. I want to be the center of attention. Be like everybody else and have a good time, laugh , talk , be cool. I don't really ever leave the house, I know I should though I'm homeschooled. I don't have any friends my age. I sometimes get nervous even when eating depending on who I'm with. I just want to live life and be the person everybody wants to be around. I know you guys can help me figure out this problem. So please, what should/can I do to stop being so nervous? any drugs or anything that can help not being nervous? Sorry to say but it sounds like a case of social anxiety. Being home-schooled must make it hard!! Don't worry though, you can get through this!! I don't know how old you are, but if your parents won't believe you, just go to the doctor yourself. Tell them how you feel and they will probably suggest councelling and/or medication. I would suggest you sit down and try to tell your parents, just let them know how nervous you get and how the nerves won't go away. If they know whats happening it will be much easier. In the meantime, make sure you're eating enough fruits and vegies, getting enough sleep and exercising!! These basic things will help you feel a bit better Yep, you have social anxiety. I'm 44 and it took years and years and a (serious) bout with alcoholism to get me out of it. Stop worrying so much about what other people think of you, and start thinking about what you can do to help other people. Social Anxiety is a thought disorder. Main issue is that you are self-involved. You are taking a step in the right direction. Reaching out to others. Good job. this sounds dumb but Rescue Remedy it really works just herbs it relaxes you without the heavy drugs. |
