Anxiety disorder - mornings?


I have social anxiety disorder for about 3 years now. I'm insomniac, I go to bed around 3 am and wake up in the noon. My main problem right now, I have to get a job but in the mornings I feel AWFUL because of my SAD. Even when I'm at home (at my safe place)

What can I do?

i suffer from the same thing...oh, lord. i know exactly how you feel. you need to get on some anti-depressants. go see a psychologist or just get some prescribed to you by your family doctor. try Lexapro...hardly any side effects and helped me out a great deal. i would have panic attacks whenever i couldn't go to sleep (due to anxiety) and it would keep me up longer.

Ok, SAD generally stands for Seasonal Affective Disorder, not social anxiety disorder, fyi. I don't think anyone who gets 9 hours of sleep at night can be considered to have insomnia. Force yourself to get up at a reasonable time of the morning, and after a few days, you should be able to easily get to sleep before 3 am. If your anxiety problem is primarily in the 'morning' it could be blood sugar, talk to your doc.

Zoloft is great for that
