GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) BiPolar People?

I have Bipolar II and am doing pretty well but when I am down I also get anxiety. I also get really sleepy and tired. Does anyone else have symptoms like this. I think I probably have a degree of GAD.
How do you cope with anxiety and being down. The sleepiness is awful - makes it hard to function.
The anxiety, sleepiness and down symptoms all go together. Orther peoples experiences???

With my symptoms, the sleepiness accompanies the depression--always. It always has and I can only assume it always will. Which makes it a double-edged sword really: the more I sleep the more depressed I am; the more depressed I am the more I want to sleep. I haven't noticed a correlation between anxiety and depression, but then again, I haven't looked for one. I do know that I have bouts of serious anxiety. For example, I have to leave the house today and I'm scared out of my mind. Am I depressed? Yes. Is it a coincidence or are the two related? Beats me. I wish I could say "Dr. Blah Blah Blah did a study in 19dadada and determined buullbullbullbullbull" but I don't remember reading anything about depression and anxiety and I'm not going to BS you. Perhaps somebody else has an idea. Good luck.

If I'm depressed and have a constant 'anxiety,' it's not anxiety but agitation which is a mini mixed state meaning some hypomania going on at the same time. The thing is, in my case, I am very tired, want to sleep all.the.time, but can't hardly fall asleep for real so I end up more like a 24/7 couch potato. Thanks to my pdoc, I get meds to help with the agitation which helps sleep which helps depression some. Not sure if this applies to what you are experiencing.

PS - Take some Omega 3 fish oil, 2+ grams of the EPA ingredient. Give it a week or so to see if it helps your depression. It does help mine a little bit. I take whatever I can get since antidepressants make me mixed or manic and are verbotten for me.

Oh yeah, straight depression... molasses in my brain. I get real stupid and my body weighs a ton. It's standard atypical depression.

I usually worry alot about the future, and whats gonna happen when Im somewhere.
