People with social anxiety disorder questions? |
I have this and I just want to make a connection with other people who have it. Having social anxiety disorder has its pros and cons. For example, me being scared to go out in public has allowed me to become a good song writer and poet. I'm acutally the poet laureate at my college. I feel like if I didn't get teased when I was young, I would've been like everyone else. Don't get me wrong sometimes I do want to "fit in" sometimes. Lust is powerful. With that being said I have some questions. What is your favorite subject in school? Do you write poetry or songs? Do you paint? If in college, what is your major? Are you in a relationship? Have you ever had sex, if not was it because you respect woman (40 year old virgin)? How do you fulfill your sexual needs? Have you ever had a job, if so how did your first day go? WIll you give up your current life to "fit in" the Matrix lol? Last one, Do the pros outweigh the cons? http://www.socialanxietysupport.com/foru... Man get out of your dorm room. : ) Social anxiety occurs in most people, now clinical level social anxiety is different (generalized anxiety disorder, etc). I think it would be hard to be a brilliant writer or poet without having experiences society. Maybe your social anxiety arises from the belief that society as a whole is lacking, however, how do you expect to get new material and insight in the world without experiencing it first hand. I'm not suggesting you go out and smoke crack, but live your life and enjoy it. When I had anxiety in the past, I would force myself to go out anyway and most of the time I would loathe the fact that I left. But, at the end of the day, these small steps allowed me to feel better and that is all anyone wants in the end. I play guitar, write songs, write books, etc. Also I recently graduated from my university so I can remember the position I was in. I hope you get out of it, as if you don't you will wake up and realize so much has already passed you by. Hey, I also have social anxiety, I was given medication but have never used it. More specifically, I have Avoidant Personality Disorder. Being given meds and being told to visit a psychologist really kicked me in the butt to really try to change, because I personally dont' like admitting I need help. |
