Athough Wellbutrin is not an SSRI, can it still help anxiety disorders like OCD?

J, just what I need...more anxiety!

I would think that it would make OCD and anxiety

worse as it is a increases NE and dopamine in the brain.

Only a doctor would know for sure, but i've never heard of Wellbutrin being prescribed specifically for OCD. It may be because Wellbutrin inhibits the reuptake of dopamine receptors - and some dopamine antagonists are - oddly - reputed to cause anxiety (not sure the reason why). Wellbutrin is known to make some people feel jittery and anxious as a side effect.

I take Wellbutrin SR and also Lexapro, the doctor told me the Wellbutrin will not work for anxiety - and that's why I'm also taking the Lexapro.

I've been on them for over a year and a half, and it's worked well for me...

it can but try triliptal. no one tries it and it has worked miracles for me. i have both anxiety and depression. that and coping skills have done the trick
