Does my friend have an anxiety disorder?

I think my friend might have some kind of anxiety disorder. She always says shes sick when i know shes not. She makes up excuses all the time to avoid social situations and when she is out with me and our friends she always seems very uncomfortable and shy and always finds some excuse to leave. Her best friend says she knows whats wrong with her but she cannot tell us but im also thinking is she just anxious or does she not like me and my friends. We have been friends for about a year now and she only started getting like this a month ago before she was very involed within our group of friends and came out with us often but even then i noticed she didnt like to go far from her home. She always saying she feels dizzy and thinks shes goina faint and runs away. But if we are sitting in her house with her or beside her house she is fine. Some of our friends think she is being rude but as my cousin has a anxiety disorder i think she might have one. Does it sound like it?

Sounds like hypochondria from thinking she's sick all the time, and perhaps a borderline personality disorder or social anxiety disorder with the social situations. It also sounds like she is having panic attacks and perhaps separation anxiety from the comfort of her own home. Since it happened so suddenly, there could be some other factor triggering it like a personal problem that she prefers not to share. It could just be a phase until this problem passes. Hope this helps! =)

It sounds like social anxiety. Or possibly some form of agoraphobia (fear of leaving her house). It is something that can be easily medicated. I would have a talk with the girl. Tell her that you support her no matter what and you would like to help her get her problems taken care of.
