Social anxiety/generalized anxiety disorder need help?

i am about 90 % sure i have social anxiety and 99 % sure i have generalized anxiety disorder, anyway what i am curious is i ALWAYS get paranoid people are going to attack me, hit me and bash me and i think this might of been caused by my school becuase i repeatly got threatned on a daily basis anyway and ever since then i always think people are going to threaten/hit me and i was wondering can social anxiety/GAD effect the way i respond to things like this, now? and will meds make me less scared/more brave?

I've been diagnosed with both GAD and social anxiety. I was given Prozac and had to see a therapist. The therapist really helped, she showed me ways to calm down and other really good advice to deal with the feelings i was having. Now I no longer need the Prozac but I still have to see her every few months for a check up kinda thing.
If it is very bad to the point it effects your day to day life (like it did for me) i would suggest seeing a doctor. They'll ask you a BUNCH of questions but theyll give you a lot of info and help!

I have a form of this. Yes, meds do help as far as the anxiety but do not help with the reaction you will have when feeling this way. You have to do therapy to change they way you react. Meds won't do that for you. If you want to talk about it, you can email me. I suggest you find a doctor to see real results, someone who specializes in aneity disorders. Also one thing I have to make clear. Meds are good and bad, they will not make you more brave, and they also dull your senses to everything which really sucks over time. I don't know about you but I like to feel emotions, good and bad. If you choose meds use them to get thru your rough patch and try to learn how to be better without them.

I hate that you have this, it is possible to change things over time. There is light at the tunnel.

Yes, anxiety affects many aspects of individual's lives. It can affect you emotionally and physically (i.e. stomachaches, headaches, etc)

Medication is very helpful for some people in calming paranoia and anxious feelings.

In addition to medication, therapy is also extremely effective in helping to teach you skills for how you can anticipate and react in anxious situations.
