Social Anxiety Disorder Help? |
I know people with Social Anxiety Disorder are afraid to be judged or talked about but I wasn't like that before. ive had the problem for most of my life. and im only 20, in college and stressed out of my mind. it sucks. i dont make many friends because im quiet. people wont talk to the quiet one. im terrified to speak in front of a group. but it seems that the only people that i can talk to are people that are older then i am. it is very strange and im not sure for the reason why. the kids that i do hangout with around my age say that im to mature and serious all the time. i think that may be my reason but i still cant overcome my problem with meeting new people. just like to let you know that there are alot of people with the same problem out there. so far the only thing that has somewhat worked for me is meds. good luck. need anyone to talk to give me a shout. I'm very sorry to hear this its prob. nothing. really. someone prob. put the idea in your head and now you are thinking you have. you are creating your own sympoms. if someone says, you look like you have a really deadly rash on your arm, your brain thinks you have a rash, and might even give you one! its a medical fact there is even a name for it! well i have that same problem i really frake out when people talk about me and beacuse of it i dont talk to anyone at school beacuse im scard to trust anyone that i meight end up get hurt but a got over it by think those people dont really matter but if it the whole school talking about you i cant help you there only u know how to help your self but mean will im still here if u want to talk. beleive me the whole school talks about me and some time i just want to fall and cry or run away form it all. but u cant let them win just hang in there sorry if i could help u As mentioned, school counselor may help finding a list of psychiatrist/clinical psychologist for you. They may help to diagnosis your problem. Indeed, you may not be severe enough to need drugs or CBT. http://www.anxietyzone.com/index.php you may not need a phsyciatrist--mabe a psychologist or a social worker would do---they do handle cases like yours Call your local mental health center. They may be able to find a psychiatrist through there. |
