I have an anxiety disorder and I am on my 6th day of no smoking, I need help coping with this new HIGH anxiety to quit smoking you must find a different "rush". walking, jogging, going to the theater, something that boosts the adrenaline and lifts your emotions up. try not to do the energy drinks and extra caffeine. if you're married or have a special someone, best friend, give them a call and do a night out together. the buddies system is a wonderful working way to pick yourself up and get moving and enjoy the challenge you're facing. do NOT give up if you have a setback, just keep at it. I'm rooting for you>Smile< and i know it can be done, i did it. best wishes to your New Year and life! Breathe! The cravings only last a few seconds. Or get carrot sticks or hard candy to put in your mouth instead. go for a walk or run that will take some of the anxiety away get to your doctor and ask for a prescription for Wellbutrin which will take the edge off your anxiety.. you might also ask for the patch to help reduce your nicotine addiction the 2 together will help you with both. The patch you will be off within 3 months and the Wellbutrin within the 4th or 5th month. It really helps alot!! Some people eat sunflower seeds, for they are high in magnesium. Magnesium helps to soothe the nerves. Also Faith in God and prayer. Maybe you need some welbutrin or something to help you through until you can better cope with your anxiety. Call your dr. and make an appointment to go talk to he\she. Good luck I quit smoking on July 26th 2006......it is not easy but well worth it in the long run!! Beer, and lots of it. |
