If i have an anxiety disorder what does that mean? and what are anxiety attacks?

Your body's "fight or flee" reaction goes into overdrive and becomes uncontrollable. In other words your stomach churns all the time, you're hit by adrenalin shocks constantly and you feel terrified, even though there's nothing to be scared of. You become unable to relax and if you get any sleep, it's usually only for a couple of hours. Panic attacks are different and they don't always go with anxiety, although they can. That's when you feel you can't breathe, you heart races so that some people even think they're having a heart attack. If you think any of this applies to you, see a doctor as soon as you can. Anxiety generally goes with depression and can be very easily treated with medication and counselling. Good luck!
anxiety disorder means that you have chronic episodes of panic- and anxiety attack can be felt many ways. Personally, I get short of breath and start hyperventilating and I get fight or flight - I need to get out of wherever I am.
When you have an anxiety attacks(panic attacks) it feels like your dying. OK now the good news. They are treatable. I do yoga, breathing, and sometime take meds for it. I started having mine when I was 19yrs old. I still have them at 51 yrs old but not as often or as bad.

Anxiety disorder is when you worry too much about stuff that's not likely to happen. I would worry about every little thing. For example, if my daughter had a fever, I would want to rush her to the ER because I was afraid she was dying. My anxiety attacks would come on sudden, like I would feel like I couldn't breathe, but I was OK. Or I wouldn't be able to swallow, but if I took a drink of something then I found I could swallow. It's like something in your mind is trying to confuse you. Hope this helps.
Alot of people that I know have been diagnosed with anxiety disorder. I feel that when they get nervous or overly stressed or excited, thats when they go into their fits of anxiety. They usually take pills prescribed to them for that .But I have also found that sitting down with them and talking them down like changing subjects not on their minds works. But if the fit is bad a good old fashioned paper bag to breathe into works too. Well I'm no doctor, but I thought I'd put my two sense in. I really hope that this helps.
you may feel uncomfortable in crowds ..... you could get a tightness in your chest when you know you have something important is coming up (a meeting)..... feel upset for no real reason.....shortness of breath..........Be thankful you don't get panic attacks, then you feel like your dying no tightness in your chest, your chest is hurting you feel like your having a heart attack.....no shortness of breath, you cant breath there is a big difference in the two.....I am being treated for both
